Hawthorn star Jonathon Patton has been stood down “from all club commitments” as the Hawks investigate claims of sending unsolicited sexual messages to multiple women.
The Hawks were already investigating the complaints but released a statement on Monday night that they were taking further action.
“Hawthorn Football Club has stood down Jonathon Patton from all club commitments until the completion of its investigation into allegations of Patton’s inappropriate behaviour on social media,” it read.
“The club’s Integrity Committee met this afternoon and will continue to ascertain all relevant information.
“The club will provide a further update at the completion of the investigation and asks that the privacy of all parties involved be respected at this time.”
The 27-year-old has deleted his social media accounts.
The club was already investigating a complaint before two additional women came forward in recent days to allege inappropriate messages from Patton.
“Basically from the get go he was talking to me in such a sexual nature that I never reciprocated,” Elle Conan told Nine News.
“He would send me photos of him in bed exposed.
“I would make it really clear that I didn’t want that from him.”
Nine News reported women had been contacted dating back to at least 2017.
